"Art in the Narthex", are spiritual reflections created by artists, based on scripture readings, seasons of the Church, outreach projects, ministries and more, which greet visitors as they enter the church, and offer a chance to experience, often without words, a sense of the holy through art.
My reflections/commentary through art, on current events, especially the horrific events in Charlottesville, VA in August 2017, were featured at ART IN THE NARTHEX at Christ Episcopal Church on Sunday, August 27, 2017. Also featured were Bishop Steven Miller's letter to the Diocese of Milwaukee featuring his reflections on the events in Charlotteville.
This assemblage will also be in the Fall Art Show at Gallery 223, 223 Broad St., Lake Geneva, WI from August 31 - November 5, 2017.
"Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art." ~ Leonardo da Vinci ~ * "The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape." ~ Pablo Picasso ~

Memory Jug - "Dad's Desk Drawer Leftovers"
This was my first attempt at creating a memory jug. I used random items leftover from cleaning out my Dad's desk, as we were cleaning out our parents home, to put on the market for sale. I love how it turned out... it's a treasured memory of things of Dad.
