Memory Jug - "Dad's Desk Drawer Leftovers"

This was my first attempt at creating a memory jug.  I used random items leftover from cleaning out my Dad's desk, as we were cleaning out our parents home, to put on the market for sale.  I love how it turned out... it's a treasured memory of things of Dad.

Nature Themed Cross from Camp Lakota Church Camp 2017

I was blessed to be one of the Arts and Crafts persons for the Diocese of Fond du Lac's Junior Camping Session at Camp Lakota in Wautoma, WI.  We made our own renditions of a nature-scape cross.  This was mine.  The kids all made terrific ones too!

Art Journals with things of nature...

I scavenged for various things from the woods, and beach areas around us, and other elements I had on hand too, to make these cool covers for Art Journals, these will be featured at Gallery 223 in Lake Geneva during the summer art show.

Ain't That A Kick In The Teeth

These shoes were featured at the early Summer 2017 Gallery 223 Art Show and sold!
These shoes were just waiting for someone like Steven Tyler to
purchase them... or some other talented musician/artist, … or even a dentist!
Embellished with dental teeth samples, and on the zipper pulls, antelope teeth.
TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE WITH THESE SHOES!

Featured in an Advent Devotional "Come, Lord Jesus, Come".

Advent is just around the corner… the First Sunday of Advent is November 27th.

“Come, Lord Jesus, Come,  Visual Devotions for Advent”, is a devotional booklet for individuals or small groups that offers written reflections on images of art from local artists (honored to be a part of this), as well as  artists from around the world.  Some are contemporary, present day artists, some from centuries ago.

Art is a great way to open yourself up to the mysteries of God, to sit in the pocket of them as you gaze and ponder. “Blessed are your eyes because they see,” Jesus said. Theologians in their own right, artists are committed to helping us see what was, what is, and what could be.  Take some time this Advent in reading and reflecting on the devotions and art in this Advent Devotional, image selection and commentary by Victoria Emily Jones. (artandtheology.org) Advent Devotional and slide show link  This art piece, "The Annuciation: The Adventus" is featured in the newest Gallery Show at Gallery 223, 223 Broad St., Lake Geneva, WI from Nov. 16th - Jan. 8th.

Bringing Awareness of Hunger and Homelessness

"Art in the Narthex", are spiritual reflections created by artists, based on scripture readings, seasons of the Church, outreach projects, ministries and more, which greet visitors as they enter the church, and offer a chance to experience, often without words, a sense of the holy through art.

Our Church, Christ Episcopal, Delavan, has many ministries that help those in our community who are in need.  It was so fun to have our Sunday School kids be part of the ART IN THE NARTHEX, to be featured the next few weeks.
They helped decide what should go on the signs, made the signs and arranged them for viewing too.  Great lesson as well for kids, as well as adults to be confronted with... there ARE many needs, by MANY just in our community, not to mention in the world too!

Great job kids!!

First Aid Station

"Art in the Narthex", are spiritual reflections created by artists, based on scripture readings, seasons of the Church, outreach projects, ministries and more, which greet visitors as they enter the church, and offer a chance to experience, often without words, a sense of the holy through art.

This is an assemblage I made from an Old Testament Reading from Jeremiah 8:22, but also reflects the New Testament truth of Salvation in and through Jesus Christ.
