More Art in the Narthex

Our Church, Christ Episcopal, Delavan, extends an offer to artists of all ages, and mediums, to use our narthex (entrance/greeting room), to display their works of art that offer an artistic glimpse of God, of the Holy, and Sacred.
  These next few months, we are helping promote the 2019 Bible Reading Plan that our priest Father Pedro has challenged the congregation to do.  Father Pedro likes us to also concentrate on the theme he feels God is calling us to... from Matthew 6:33  "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness...." 

The art currently being shown, reflects that theme, as well as some art installations that reflect stories from Genesis and Exodus, the first two books of the bible.

Some of these I made, others are items I found, and repurposed, adding things to them, to create the installation.

More will be added as the weeks progress to further highlight scripture passages from the Old Testament, and into the New Testament.

Memory Jug for Alysha

This was a fun memory jug to make, for my soon to be daughter-in-law, Alysha.  Using many of her personal trinkets and memories of her own and her parents and grandparents, as well as a few trinkets to fill in some places too.  There are some of her cat's teeth, her own baby tooth, diaper pins, jewelry from relatives, and from her childhood, and other fun memories.  I found a cool silver pedastal to attach it to as well.

Christ Episcopal Church, Delavan, WI is celebrating 175 years during 2019.  During Lent this year, from March 20th - 24th, they are hosting an Art as Prayer Show.

We welcome artists of all ages, and all mediums to be a part of our show.  For more details and to get a registration form, contact me and I can email you a pdf format of the registration form with more info.

Last year we had over 50 artists displaying over 125 works of arts, with meditations.  We welcome YOU to be a part of the Art Show this year!

Let The Light Within Shine!

My latest assemblage... I am thinking of naming her "ZIV", which is Hebrew, meaning “radiance or light of God.” She features an old oil lantern for her body, with an inscription in the front that says "City of Milwaukee". Inside is a battery candle that can be changed when needed. Ziv sports some lovely tattoos and a wreath headpiece of leaves, along with other added bling. She is on a stand, but this could be temporary if you have a hook somewhere you might want to place her.

Artist of the Month at Lake Geneva Library

I am blessed to be the Artist of the Month (October) at the Lake Geneva Public Library.  I have over 12 assemblages on display on the "Artist's Stage" there, stop in through out October to see them.

On Wed., Oct. 17th at 6:30 I will have a question and answer session, with explanations of my pieces, and what has inspired me, where I get my ideas, etc.  All are welcome!
