My latest assemblage reflects the atrocities happening at the southern borders of the USA. People being put into cages, children separated from their parents, and more! "...the country is embroiled in a furious debate over the conditions of U.S. immigration detention facilities, as violence and poverty in Central America sends many refugees and migrants northward." USA Today, July 17, 2019
This assemblage is based on Matthew 25:40, where Jesus said, "..whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."
Also remembering part of what is written on the base of the Statue of Liberty, "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me..."
I recently read a quote from an art show by Lauren Bon; "Artists Need to Create on the Same Scale That Society Has the Capacity to Destroy".
This assemblage is a sad reflection on what our society is doing now. How does this make America great? What is our response to the horrible things going on in our country?
