This assemblage is titled "3:16".
The box in this once was a gift box of sausage and cheese, it now has pages from old, re- purposed, Prayer Books, Hymnals and Bibles collaged on the inside, many of them prayers for the whole world during this trying time.
The tin heart was painted red, and 3 rusted spikes were added to it, symbolic of the nails that were used in crucifying Jesus. The crown that comes out the top of the box signifies Jesus as King of kings, and Prince of peace.The blue and green heart at the base depicts the world, with the continents featured in green.
On the outside of the box, on one side is a rusted cross, beneath are dominoes, the numbers 3 - 1 - 6 signify the chapter and verse from John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.”
On the other side is a 3-D’d lithograph rendition of “The Virgin in Prayer”, by artist Giovanni Battista Salvi da Sassoferrato.
