The Making of a Saint Icon... Saint Joel Prather aka Fr. Joel

I had some fun creating a look alike ICON of Fr. Joel, which I titled Saint Joel, for his birthday gift.

I used an old ceiling fan blade, and decoupaged on it pages from the Book of Joel, from an old "rescue" Bible.  And then added in 3-D the body and head of St. Joel.

I love how it turned out, and Fr. Joel seemed to love it too!

Here's a photo of the real Father Joel so you can tell how much my rendition really DOES look like him!

Art As Prayer Show 2014

                      Christ Episcopal Church Welcomed Artists and Art Lovers in an “ART AS PRAYER - A                                  Visual Message from God” Meditations & Art Show, held March 12 - March 16, 2014.
                                  Local Artists Work was displayed, along with their Meditations for viewers to take                                             time to read and view, and also participants could walk the Chapel Labyrinth or                                                  pray in the Church or Chapel.

Making Epiphany Skit "Puppets" The Visit of the Magi

Life size "puppets" on boards, dressed in costumes will be used by the Christ Church Sunday School Kids to present an Epiphany Skit on Epiphany Sunday (after Christmas).  It was fun creating the faces of these puppets, featuring the 3 Kings (Magi), Joseph, Mary, and child Jesus.

John and I went to this event in downtown Milwaukee, at the Loyalty Building, Hilton Garden Inn, where our daughter Kasey also had some of her photograph series featured, an art collaboration with her friend, John Kowalczyk   Great work by all!!  There were many kinds of art to see, these are just a few of them. 10th Anniversary of 9/11 Installation @ Christ Church

9/11 INSTALLATION

A time of remembrance, prayer, labyrinth walk, and an installation by Roberta Karstetter brought to mind those who lost their lives or were injured on the attacks that occurred on
September 11, 2001.
