Featured in an Advent Devotional "Come, Lord Jesus, Come".

Advent is just around the corner… the First Sunday of Advent is November 27th.

“Come, Lord Jesus, Come,  Visual Devotions for Advent”, is a devotional booklet for individuals or small groups that offers written reflections on images of art from local artists (honored to be a part of this), as well as  artists from around the world.  Some are contemporary, present day artists, some from centuries ago.

Art is a great way to open yourself up to the mysteries of God, to sit in the pocket of them as you gaze and ponder. “Blessed are your eyes because they see,” Jesus said. Theologians in their own right, artists are committed to helping us see what was, what is, and what could be.  Take some time this Advent in reading and reflecting on the devotions and art in this Advent Devotional, image selection and commentary by Victoria Emily Jones. Bringing Awareness of Hunger and Homelessness

"Art in the Narthex", are spiritual reflections created by artists, based on scripture readings, seasons of the Church, outreach projects, ministries and more, which greet visitors as they enter the church, and offer a chance to experience, often without words, a sense of the holy through art.

Our Church, Christ Episcopal, Delavan, has many ministries that help those in our community who are in need.  It was so fun to have our Sunday School kids be part of the ART IN THE NARTHEX, to be featured the next few weeks.
They helped decide what should go on the signs, made the signs and arranged them for viewing too.  Great lesson as well for kids, as well as adults to be confronted with... there ARE many needs, by MANY just in our community, not to mention in the world too!

Great job kids!!

This is an assemblage I made from an Old Testament Reading from Jeremiah 8:22, but also reflects the New Testament truth of Salvation in and through Jesus Christ.

Art in the Park 2016

ART IN THE PARK, LAKE GENEVA, WI

Great Saturday at Art in the Park.  I had a small table of my assemblages in the GLAF Members Gallery.  I sold two assemblages too, The Prayer Closet and one of my Fork in the Road series boxes, IMAGINE... pretty awesome!

My daughter, Kasey and I also worked at the Kid's Pavilion for half the day.  That was a lot of fun too, the kids, and parents all seemed to love creating small pieces of art to take home, we had about 140 kids and adults come thru to make art in just the 4 hours we were there!

Great event, lots of wonderful art of various mediums too!  Fun to be a part of it!

More Art As Prayer Show 2016

Christ Episcopal Church, Delavan, WI hosts a yearly Art As Prayer Show, which I have been blessed to be a part of, and to help plan and organize.  This year we had over 27 artists, of all ages, from around S.E. Wisconsin, using many varied art mediums to express their faith and showcase their art through their meditations that were part of our "prayer stations" and offered a glimpse into the artist's faith and spiritual expressions.

Here are some of my assemblages that were part of this year's show.   More photos of many other artists and their great art can be found at my Facebook site here

Over 27 area artists had art and meditations featured during the event.  An Artist Reception was held on Wed. night, and the Art Show was open at various times over the long weekend event.  Proud to also show some of the art from our grandson, Josh Karstetter "Blue Man", and abstract watercolors from daughter, Kasey Karstetter.

Even my Mom had some of her watercolors featured too!

And my sister-in-law, Lisa Gifford also had some wonderful art featured, along with great meditations.
